Washington Gas & BGE Customers
What to do when adding additional natural gas appliances to your home.
Shopping on the internet can provide great savings, but do you know if you are getting the right product? A safe product? A product that has a warranty with the manufacturer?
McAllister Plumbing uses certified products - for instance, lead free for plumbing needs and ANSI certified for gas products. Some great deals are not so great if you are getting products not certified and those products will not pass an inspection by the local jurisdiction. Know what you are buying before you "submit" the order!
ANSI Accreditation provides assurance that standards, goods, and services meet essential requirements throughout the global supply chain - engendering consumer trust and fostering competitiveness. Increasingly, procurement authorities, government agencies, and program/scheme owners are specifying accreditation in order to demonstrate the technical competence and impartiality of conformance services and processes. These assessments enhance confidence between buyers and sellers as they mitigate risk.

Water Heater Energy Conservation
On April 16, 2015, there were significant updates to water heater energy factor (EF) requirements as the result of updates to the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA). These new requirements call for higher Energy Factor (EF) ratings on virtually all residential gas, electric, oil and tankless gas water heaters as well as certain light duty commercial models. AO Smith, one of the leading manufacturers of water heaters, provides detailed information regarding the requirements. Learn more.
